Tehran, YJC. Vice Chancellor of National Trust Party has said that the party’s further activity is conditioned by the release of its Secretary Mehdi Karoubi from home arrest.
Hojatoleslam Rsoul Montajab Nia said in an interview with Nedaye Enqelab in response to news regarding the resumption of the party under his management "The resumption of the National Trust Party is by no means true.”
He asserted "All the members of the central council know the continuation of the party’s activities after Rouhani as President to be subject to the release of the Secretary from incarceration, therefore there will be no activity under my supervision.”
Asked if with Rouhani in power, Karoubi will be released from home arrest, the Vice Chancellor of the National Trust Party answered "Things have changed in the country and there is no reason for the current state of things to be continued any more. With Rouhani as President, Karoubi will be easily set free.”
Mohammadjavad Haqshenas, a member of the National Trust Party central council, had earlier said that the party was to resume operation under Montajab Nia.
