TEHRAN, December 10 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is going to visit Turkey for OIC summit, said President's Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Information Parviz Esmaeili.

Rouhani to attend OIC summit in TurkeyTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “President Rouhani is going to travel to Turkey on Tuesday to take part and deliver speech in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit on holy Quds. The summit will open in Istanbul on Wednesday,” he wrote in his official tweeter account.

Last Friday, Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Ebrahim Taherian said Tehran and Ankara had agreed to hold OIC summit to confront aggression against Jerusalem Quds.

The decision was made following talks and agreement by presidents of Iran and Turkey, he said.

“Following talks between presidents of Iran and Turkey, a very good agreement was made for holding OIC summit to strengthen unity and take inclusive steps to defend the Muslims’ first Qibla in the holy Quds and support Palestinian nation. The summit is scheduled for December 12-13 in Istanbul and will be attended by senior experts, foreign ministers and presidents of the member states,” the ambassador added.

He said that the opportunity would show that Muslims and leaders of Islamic states will act in a united way on Quds and Palestine issue.

The decision was made after US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as ‘capital’ of Israel, saying that the US would relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.

The move has caused strong reactions across the world.
