TEHRAN, December 7 - Iran’s transit volume has grown by 21 percent over the first 8 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2017 – November 21, 2017), comparing to similar period in the year before, a report by Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization said.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Over 6 million tons of goods have been moved through 32 active land and maritime borders over the 8 months, rising by 21 percent comparing to similar time in the year before, the report said.
1.772 million tons of the material included oil products, 4.281 million tons were non-oil, including mazut, fabric, car parts, rice, gasoline, tire and cotton.
Shahid Rajaie Port, located in southern Iran, has been the main channel for 36 percent of the transit volume.
The sources of transit have been Iraq with the UAE as the destination.
