TEHRAN, December 1 - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Baku on the sidelines of Heart of Asia Conference.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The two sides discussed issues of mutual interests and regional issues.
They also conferred on bilateral ties, trilateral relations among Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan, joint battle against extremism and terrorism, cooperation in railroad, Afghanistan and Astana talks on Syria.
Zarif arrived in Baku on Friday.
The conference, mainly focused on Afghanistan, provides a framework for development of friendly and fruitful regional cooperation with the aim of reinforcing regional peace and prosperity, according to Presstv.
The conference, which is organized to create a path to address the challenges Afghanistan is facing and the common interests it shares with its neighbors and regional partners, is annually held in one of the participating countries.
The Heart of Asia Conference includes 14 participating and 17 supporting countries, as well as 12 international and regional organizations.
Zarif arrived in Italy on Thursday for the third edition of the Rome MED-Mediterranean Dialogues.
