TEHRAN, November 30 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi blasted recent hostile remarks made by US Vice President Mike Pence, saying that the reality of big failure of Daesh has surprised and worried Americans.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - He said that repeating allegations raised by US officials against Iran shows that they have either advertently closed their eyes to the reality of big failures of Daesh in Iraq and Syria or have been worried and surprised by defeat of the terrorist group and its losing lands and control in certain parts of Iraq and Syria.
Qassemi noted that US officials are accusing Iran of supporting terrorism while Iran has been standing by Iraqi and Syrian nations and government over last 5 years to help regional security and stability.
“No one and no country can ignore the positive and constructive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in fighting the evil phenomenon of terrorism in the region and the world.”
He added that the deceiving approach of the US and its effort to sow discord among regional countries caused insecurity, spread of terrorism, complicated security condition and potential and active tension in the region.
The Iranian official continued that Iran rejects the repetitious and unfounded allegations raised by US officials, and believes that the only way to purge Middle East of terrorism and destructive wars is dialogue, cooperation and confidence among regional countries.
“This is the only option which can guarantee stability of countries and security of regional nations in near future.”
