Tehran, YJC. Salehi has made a telephone call to ElBaradei to discuss latest developments in Egypt.
Returning from Turkey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of
the Islamic Republic of Iran Aliakbar Salehi made a phone call to the Acting
Vice President of Egypt Mohamed AlBaradei to discuss latest developments in
Egypt.
Mehr News Agency reports that the Iranian Foreign Minister
stressed the need for the people of Egypt to decide for their own interests,
adding that the decision by the Egyptians to decide the future course of their
political affairs is respected by all.
Salehi also called on all Egyptian political groups and
elite to work within the country’s political framework in keeping with notions
of unity in order to gratify the nation’s needs.
Mohamed ElBaradei expressed gratitude for Salehi’s concern
and stressed the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in regional
affairs.
He expressed willingness to strengthen ties with Iran and
pursue cooperation regarding regional issues.
