TEHRAN, November 20 -In a statement Iraqi Federal Supreme Court declared the result of Kurdistan Region’s secession referendum cancelled.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The court, according to Sputnik, reckoned the referendum illegal and voided all of its consequences.
The Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper in London, a few days ago, quoted Kurdish sources as saying that the Iraqi Kurdistan Government would the accept the Supreme Court’s ruling and commit to the cancelation of the referendum results.
The referendum on the separation of the Kurdish region of Iraq was held on September 25, 2017. About 92 percent of the referendum participants wanted a separation of Kurdistan from Iraq.
