Tehran, YJC. Official says that satellite channels have attracted part of society away from national media.

In an interview with ISNA, Manager of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Channel 2 Ali Bakhshizadeh said in answer to the question what must be done in order to attract people away from satellite channels "There is no doubt that satellite channels have taken a part of our audience. I must say that the IRIB has taken measures accordingly, especially in television.”

Bakhshizadeh also hoped that the budget deficit in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting would be resolved with the new President, adding "Of course Mr. President will have his own problems to deal with, but I hope that, with his broad outlook, he will regard the IRIB in a special way so that problems are eliminated.”

Indeed, while the IRIB management was boasting with productions like Omar Mokhtar promoting Arab culture, Iranians have become addicted to Turkish & Latino channels.
I hope a new management trying to appease it's own people will lead the "national" media.
