TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Hojat ul-Islam Mohammad Hossein Rafiei, director general of Al-Mustafa Internatioal University’s Quran and Hadith Department, said that nearly 4,000 students of the university are now memorizers of between one Juz (part) and 30 Juzes of the Quran.
He said more than 200 memorizers of the entire Quran have been trained at the university in recent years.
Hojat ul-Islam Rafiei noted that once they enter the university, the students are given courses on Quran and Hadith and programs to improve their Quranic skills.
There has been a growth in the Quranic activities carried out in the university, he added.
The cleric went on to say that there are plans to train the Quran memorizers and reciters among the university’s students to become Quran teachers, managers and experts.
Al-Mustafa International University is an Iranian academic center with many overseas branches for non-Iranian Muslims who seek to study Islam and related subjects.
The university offers graduate, post-graduate and PhD courses in such fields as Fiqh (jurisprudence), theology, history of Islam and interdisciplinary fields with an Islamic approach.
