TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Justifying his resignation in Saudi Arabia Hariri claimed “my resignation was an appropriate act and in accordance with Lebanon and its people’s interest”.
“Malek Sakman considers me as his son and the Saudi Arabia’s Prince also respects me” he told, “I move freely in Saudi Arabia; I can travel in any time I want”.
With regard to Iran also he said that Saudi Arabia does not meddle in Lebanon affairs and that it is Iran which is meddling in the country’s internal affairs.
“I am not against Hezbollah as a political party, yet Hezbollah should not act as a factor of ruining Lebanon” he added.
Referring to his meeting Ali Akbar Velayati of Iran, Hariri said “there was no threat against me from Velayati’s side. I told Velayati that Iran’s meddling in Arabic countries is unacceptable”.
Lebanese TV networks of al-Minar, NBN, and OTV decided to not broadcast al-Hariri’s interview because Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun believes that in the current situation al-Hariri’s sayings are not reliable.
Earlier in the day, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said that Hariri is living in “mysterious circumstances” with restricted freedom in Riyadh.
Hariri announced his resignation on November 4, citing several reasons, including the security situation in Lebanon, for his sudden decision. He also said that he realized a plot being hatched against his life.
