TEHRAN, November 10-Hundreds of students, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and their supporters took the floor of the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington DC on Thursday (9 Nov. 2017), calling for Republican Party and Democrat Senators to pass a ‘Clean Dream Act’ by the end of the year.

Protesters demanded Congress take urgent action and support a programme that provides young people who were brought to the US as children temporary protection from deportation.

Students staged a walk out early in the morning, convening at the Upper Senate park by the Capitol before heading to the Hart building, where they staged their protest. Demonstrators hung a banner from one of the floors above them and chanted “Clean dream Act Now.”

Several of the protesters were arrested by Capitol Police.
