TEHRAN, November 6 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi blasted as ‘baseless’ remarks made by resigned Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri against Iran.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Hariri raised false and baseless allegations against our country,” Qassemi noted.

He said that the move by Hariri could be a beginning for other plots designed for the region. “Of course, this move will fail as other moves did in the past. It goes nowhere,” he said.

The Iranian official said that regional nations, including Lebanon with which Iran has had a very good ties should spend these days with more tact, sensitivity and vigilance.

“The Lebanese nation should not let enemies of the country and enemies of regional stability and peace disturb regional peace and stability.”
