Iran stresses boosting educational cooperation with UNESCO

TEHRAN, November 4 - Iranian Deputy Minister of Science for Education Mojtaba Shariati stressed boosting bilateral scientific and cultural cooperation between Iran and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Iran stresses boosting educational cooperation with UNESCOTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a meeting with Assistant-Director General for Education of UNESCO Qian Tang in Paris on the sidelines of the 39th UNESCO General Conference, Shariati said Iran is ready to share its educational experiences with other countries especially through UNESCO.

He said Iran is implementing a 10-year educational plan for higher education attended by a large number of professors and experts, adding the plan could be an example for other regional countries in their educational planning.

He said UNESCO office in Tehran could play a role in boosting cooperation between Iran and UNESCO.

Qian Tang, for his part, lauded Iran as a forerunner country in higher education.

“We are aware of Iran’s progress in education. Iran’s experiences could be used by countries lacking educational experiences. UNESCO is ready to cooperate for transfer of Iran’s experiences to other countries.”
