TEHRAN, November 3 - German Ambassador to Iran Michael Klor-Berchtold said his country still supports Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Germany keeps support for nuclear deal, says envoyTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “In fact, the JCPOA provided the ground for these success and we are moving towards a right path.”

He said that his country did a lot to obtain logical and rational outcome during nuclear talks. “Germany keeps backing the agreement as much as it can.”

As to US President Donald Trump’s hostile policy on Iran, he said, “There is a continuous approach on continuation of concerns about Iran which we should confront it.”

He said that maintaining the nuclear deal is very important for Germany.

“Achievements of the international pact should not be endangered.”

He also called Iran a ‘natural and reliable partner’ for Germany.

On October 1, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel called on the United States to engage in dialogue with Iran over its nuclear program amid growing concerns about the future of the nuclear agreement Iran clinched with the P5+1 group of countries more than two years ago.
