Iran’s Saipa, Volvo Cars to establish joint company

TEHRAN, October 31 - Iran’s car-maker Saipa and Chinese-owned Swedish vehicle manufacture Volvo Cars are going to establish a joint company, said Saipa CEO Rasoul Mohammad-Sadeghi.

The talks are going to focus on export of Volvo cars manufactured inside Iran to regional countries, CIS and Africa.”

The two companies have discussed joint investment and agreed on establishing a joint company, he continued.

20 percent of Volvo Cars products are being manufactured in Iran, he said, adding, the figure would rise to 30 percent by next year based on the agreements.
