Tehran, YJC. Analyst says that the nuclear issue is of key importance to the Rouhani administration, in which success will determine success in other areas.
Speaking
in a meeting in Mashhad to members of Rouhani's campaign staff, Sadeq Zibakalam
said on Saturday "It will be very
crucial for Rouhani to resolve the nuclear
issue. If he fails, by any reason, to solve the nuclear issue there will be no
hope of success for him in other areas.”
He believed the nuclear issue to be Rouhani's Achilles’ heel and said "If Mr. Rouhani manages to resolve the nuclear issue he will be practically the winner and will be able to solve other problems.”
He asserted "I believe that if he fails in the nuclear issue, sanctions will remain as before. Sanctions have already paralyzed the country’s economy and are stopping its final breaths. Therefore, I believe that if Rouhani fails to take the required steps in the few weeks ahead, all efforts that have been made will come to nothing.”
Zibakalam stated "I believe that the nuclear issue has been a burden on us and on our national economy. We have spent heavily on nuclear energy either directly or indirectly. There have been many sanctions. If Hassan Rouhani wants to help, the way would be to untie the Gordian knot off the nuclear issue.”
