TEHRAN, October 30 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi announced that President Hassan Rouhani, during his visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session, refused requests by Washington for a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In remarks released late on Sunday, Qassemi said on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, the American side showed willingness to hold a meeting between Rouhani and Trump.
However, the request for such a meeting was rejected by the Iranian president, the spokesman added.
Rouhani delivered a speech and participated in discussions at the General Assembly session in New York, which ran from September 19 to 25.
The general debate revolved around ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’.
