TEHRAN, October 25- Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano is going to visit Iran next Saturday.

Amano to visit Tehran SaturdayTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - He would be accompanied by a delegation and is going to meet with senior Iranian officials including Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi.

Amano has confirmed that Iran has complied with its commitments to 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1 since it has started implementing the deal.

The JCPOA stands for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as the nuclear deal reached between Iran and the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany is officially called.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump refused to certify Iran’s compliance with the terms of the nuclear accord under a domestic American law, kicking a decision to Congress over whether to restore sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

He also threatened to “terminate” the JCPOA if he could not “reach a solution working with Congress and our allies” to change it.

Trump further termed the JCPOA “a horrible deal for the United States” and warned that the agreement’s “total termination” was “a very real possibility.”

However, members of P5+1, including EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini have voiced support for the agreement.

Mogherini said the EU “encourages” Washington to maintain its commitment to the JCPOA.
