TEHRAN, October 21 - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said Iran’s nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a ‘unique document’ for settlement of regional and international crises.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Iran has implemented the JCPOA article by article and the IAEA has confirmed that Iran has abided by the deal,” he said at Moscow Non-proliferation Conference.
“The JCPOA has been achieved after long time of negotiations and all sides which signed the deal have regarded it as a good agreement which is in line with removing ambiguities on Iran’s nuclear program and constructive cooperation,” he said.
He also blasted US President Donald Trump and his administration’s handling of the nuclear deal, saying that, “The JCPOA is a unique and example document for settlement of regional and international crises.”
The Iranian official added that the US refuses to abide by its commitments to the deal and this is “not acceptable”.
“All remarks and positions of Trump are against the JCPOA and mean violating the JCPOA. These actions mean damaging an international document certified by the UN Security Council.”
All participants of the conference stressed that the nuclear deal is not renegotiable and that it has obtained its goals.
