Aref meets with Rouhani

Tehran, YJC. Aref and Rouhani have met to discuss future developments.

Mehr News Agency reports that Mohammadreza Aref met with the President-elect on Saturday to discuss current situations and the future administration.

Mohammadreza Aref was the Reformist candidate in 2013 presidential elections who resigned in favor of Rouhani a few days prior to the election day.

Providing comments on his meeting with Rouhani, Aref pointed to his 40-year friendship with Rouhani and said "Today’s meeting was a friendly session where I expressed my views on the government. I expressed willingness to help the government personally and in the company of the team I work with in any sphere that Dr. Rouhani would like, which he welcomed.”

In this meeting held at the Center for Strategic Studies of the Expediency Discernment Council, the Reform administration Prime Minister congratulated the President-elect on his victory once more and expressed his wishes of success for the 11th administration.

In this meeting, Aref stressed cooperation and said "We have to appreciate the desirable atmosphere that now exists in the country. We all must try for the 11th administration to succeed in reducing people’s problems.”

Rouhani in turn thanked Aref and wished him success.
