Tehran, YJC. Haqiqatpour has strongly reacted to ElBaradei’s claim that Ahmadinejad has expressed his favor to hold talks with the US.
The Ardabil representative in the Majlis and Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mansour Haqiqatpour strongly condemned Mohamed ElBaradei’s claim that Ahmadinejad has privately conveyed to him his wish to hold negotiations with the US.
Haqiqatpour said "Where does AlBaradei stand in decision-makings? ElBaradei is an opposition member in Egypt who tries within a party to gain power.”
The member of the National Security Committee in answer to a statement that AlBaradei has quoted Ahmadinejad in an exclusive interview said "I think that the news is not true. Why does he mention it now? Mentioning the issue is not wise. ElBaradei used to hold office in the International Atomic Energy Agency years ago. His mentioning the issue now shows that he wants to make a row.”
