TEHRAN, October 16 - Russia’s Deputy FM rejects Washington’s calls to modify the international nuclear deal with Iran.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In an interview with the Russian news agency TASS, Sergei Ryabcov said manipulation of the deal is the American’s word. “That’s what I would like to address to the colleagues

in the United States, If it’s not broke, don’t fix it” the Russian diplomat said.

He went on “it seems a wrong path for us to follow, for the existing deal is working well and effectual”.

Ryabkov asserted that Iran is in its full commitments to the deal and it is the US side that must work according the very deal.

The top diplomat said that Russia call Iran to keep the nuclear deal.

He also noted that by fully upholding their end of the bargain, the Iranians “have passed the ball to the US side.”

The US secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in an interview to CNN “indeed we need an agreement that encompasses a vaster range of threats from Iran”.

He also asserted that the modification of the JCPOA deal may be carried out through a secondary agreement not by modifying the JCPOA itself.

The parties to the JCPOA are Iran, Russia, the US, China, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany. They struck the deal in July 2015 and then took it to the United Nations Security Council, where it was unanimously endorsed in a resolution and effectively became international law.
