TEHRAN, October 13 - Iranian Army Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said Iran intends to dispatch a naval fleet comprising of Damavand Destroyer and Peikan Missile Launcher to Russian Makhachkala Port on Saturday.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “The Iranian naval fleet is going to move to Makhachkala Port on Saturday and would berth at the port after 48 hours,” he said.
He then continued that the visit aims at sending the message of peace and friendship and helping establish peace in the Caspian Sea region.
The Iranian commander said that the fleet is going to hold a one-day joint drill with Russian navy to exchange experience and show naval might and capability in strategic, international and political fields.
