Iranian bicyclist dies after getting hit by car on Qazvin-Karaj Highway

TEHRAN, October 5 - Former member of the Iran men’s national cycling team, Hamed Zhaleh, has been killed in a multi-vehicle pile-up on the highway linking the northwestern city of Qazvin to the industrial city of Karaj west of Tehran.

Iranian bicyclist dies after getting hit by car on Qazvin-Karaj HighwayTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Zhaleh was training for the 2017 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Masters Track Cycling World Championships, when he was hit by a car on Wednesday.

The 2017 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships will open in Los Angles, the United States, on October 8, and will finish on October 15.

The Cycling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran has extended its deepest condolences to Zhaleh's bereaved family in a brief message.
