Ayatollah Mamdouhi demands less popular Principalist candidates to resign

Tehran, YJC. Member of the Teacher’s Society has said that it is necessary that the less popular Principalist candidates resign in order to prevent a loss.

Ayatollah Mamdouhi, Member of the Teacher’s Society of Qom Seminary said that the candidates themselves know everything and the polls show who is most popular, adding "To continue to remain on the course for somebody who knows he will not win is only to disintegrate votes and is not something advisable.”

The ayatollah asserted the fact that meanwhile the mentioned individuals are highly capable and devoted, adding "Although these individuals are highly devoted and their presence is for religious obligations, under current circumstances it is necessary that they step down.”

In parallel comments Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani also called the Principalist candidates to union.

He had also described Said Jalili, a Principalist, as someone lacking the necessary tolerance needed for presidency.
