Tehran, YJC. As the Filtering Committee’s crackdown on news agencies and websites tightens, more than 100 journalists and press activists have criticized the restrictive measures in internet in an announcement.
Mehr News Agency reports the announcement as reading:
Unmethodical
measures against media active on cyberspace have heightened in the last few
months, so much so that a certain center making decisions in relation to media
activities applies strict and unexpected measures against the country’s
well-known and recognized media.
The large
number of centers making decisions on cyberspace is one of the basic problems
to have affected activities in this field. Once some entities find the executive
power to exert their views on media with no lawful reason, no justification,
and no legal procedures taken, costly, unfavorable results will follow.
