TEHRAN, September 22 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that the country would boost its missile capability.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Our defense power and armed forces have always been for providing peace and security and we have never prepared ourselves for aggression against any country, but we have always been prepared for defending and providing security of the borders,” he said on Friday as delivering speech on the anniversary of Sacred Defense Week.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always strengthened its weapons for defending itself and regional nations against aggressions of major powers and terrorists.”
He noted that Iran has always been after peace and security in the region and entire world, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will always support oppressed nations of the world, … we will defend the oppressed people of Yemen, Syria and Palestine and we will strengthen our defense and military power as much as needed for deterrence purposes.”
He said that Iran would not take permission from anyone to defend its territory, adding “We will not only boost our missiles, but also our ground, navy and air forces.”
