TEHRAN, September 22 - Scientists at Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology have designed and developed a thermosolar chemical reactor.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Dr. Ali Elyasi, a faculty member of Chemical Technologies Research Center of the Organization said Iran has put on agenda use of clean and unlimited energy to protect the environment and fossil fuels.
He also said chemical industries are one of the mostly-used ones in energy resources, adding use of solar energy to supplying part of required energy for these industries could be an important step in using the solar energy.
He also said Iranian scientists have designed a chemical thermosolar reactor for gas phase heterogeneous reactions on solid catalyst.
Elyasi continued that the device is composed of two parts of chemical reactor and a solar collector with 500 W operational power.
The device is capable of conducting thermal chemical reactions in average temperature as well as producing hot oil and super hot steam for needs of power plants.
