TEHRAN, September 17 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani left for New York on Sunday for the 72nd UN General Assembly annual meeting.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - He is going to discuss Iranian nuclear deal, fight against terrorism and Myanmar’s issue in New York.
“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a session on Myanmar and environment (in New York),” he told reporters before his departure at Tehran Mehrabad Airport.
He then said that his visit would be an opportunity for bilateral meetings with heads of some European countries including Belgium, Sweden, Austria, France and UK, Asian leaders from Japan and Pakistan as well as South African and Latin American leaders.
Referring to regional problems, he said, “None of these problems can be settled through political means. They have political solutions which should be participated by other countries.”
Rouhani also called for global cooperation to fight terrorism and establish peace and stability.
He also said the Iranian nuclear deal with P5+1, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) benefits regional and international peace, security and development.
