Tehran, YJC. Qarazi says that culture is autonomous and cannot be imposed on a nation.
Speaking in an electoral talk show on national TV on Wednesday, Mohammad Qarazi provided comments on the issue of culture and said "Culture and arts are a result of people’s resistance. People are able to get what they please through culture. Therefore I believe that culture is neither injectable nor imposable. The outcomes of these two latter methods must be mentioned.”

"I believe that culture is the reflection of people’s lives and their achievements. Therefore it is neither injectable nor imposable, nor could it be effected by other impositions,” he continued.

Qarazi added "In our country it has been the case in the last years that those with authority in culture have either gone to Russia, the UK, or France, but people have strengthened their culture. Therefore culture is a national acquisition.”

He then said "Culture can turn into a tool for power and fade into political currents. But with the morale of resistance that we know of the Iranian people that will not happen, because the Iranian people stood and forced the state into Constitution.”

"When poverty reigns people will sure fall apart from culture, but in the end culture is the result of people’s resistance,” he further said.
