Over 110,000 European Pilgrims in Hajj 2017

TEHRAN, September 2 - More than 110,000 pilgrims from European countries are taking part in the Hajj ritual this year.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to official data, Britain has the largest number of pilgrims among European states.

There are 25200 Hajjis from Britain in Hajj.

It is followed by Russia (23700), France (21,200), and Germany (11000).

Ukraine is a European country with the least number of pilgrims. There only 50 Ukrainian Muslims in Mecca this year.

There are no pilgrims from 17 European countries, namely, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Belarus, Slovakia, Moldova, Armenia, Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Estonia, Cyprus, Montenegro,Luxemburg, Malta, and Iceland.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
