TEHRAN, August 23 - Two Iranian movies Dokhtar (Daughter) by Reza Mir-Karimi and Abad va yek rooz (Life and 1 Day) by Saeed Roustaie are going to be screened the University of California, United States.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The two films are scheduled to be showcased from August 25-27 for students and cinemagoers.
The two films have both been awarded at international festivals.
‘Daughter’ is set in the southwestern Iranian city of Abadan, where Mr. Azizi, an engineer for the Abadan Oil Refining Company, is making arrangements for an engagement party for one of his daughters while his other daughter, Setareh, plans to leave Abadan to attend her friend’s goodbye party in Tehran.
‘Life and 1 Day’ tells the story of a struggling family from South Tehran as they prepare to send their beloved daughter and sister, who are very attached to the family, to Afghanistan for an arranged marriage.
