TEHRAN, August 22 - American officials come to Iraq time and again to pretend they play a major role in the liberation of Tel Afar and Mosul, whereas the Iraqi army and their allied forces are the ones who expelled Daesh terrorists from both cities, said an analyst.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Tal Afar could have been taken by the Popular Mobilization Forces singlehandedly but ... it was a political decision to delay the whole operation in order to make sure that the Americans are there and they actually show and demonstrate that they are participating in the operation,” Zayd al-Isa told Press TV on Tuesday.
The Americans want to claim that “their presence in Iraq is of utmost importance” and the Iraqis could not tell them to withdraw their military forces from the Arab country, the Middle East expert said.
