Tehran, YJC. First Deputy Speaker of the Majlis says that despite forbidding orders, IRGC officials regard some candidate with favor.
Mohammadreza
Bahonar, First Deputy Speaker of the Iranian parliament and himself a resigned candidate,
said on Sunday "We have information that although the IRGC and Basij are banned
from organizational activities in support of a certain candidate, some
high-ranking IRGC officials have taken a liking in Mr. Qalibaf," Mehr News Agency reports.
In another
part of his speeches, he provided comments on the candidate to be endorsed by
the Followers of Imam and Leadership Front on Monday afternoon, adding "This
person will probably come from among Messrs. Qalibaf, Jalili, and Velayati. Of course
as the Islamic Society of Engineers it is a bit difficult for us to decide, but
in the end we will make decisions within the framework of the Followers of Imam
and Leadership Front.”
Bahonar
also pointed to the qualification results and appreciated Mr. Hashemi’s stance
after his disqualification. He added "The qualification of Mr. Jalili set
against the disqualification of Mr. Saidikia despite his 4 terms as minister and
ranking among the valuable, devoted, revolutionary forces was very questionable.”
