Tehran, YJC. The government representative has said that he will pursue his candidacy disqualification with the Leadership.
Asked about his reaction to the qualification outcome, Mashaei said "I have previously spoken about this. The problem will be solved by being pursued via the Leader, inshalla.”
In answer to a question how he will
pursue the issue via the Leader he said "I am thinking about it and I will soon
make a decision.”
He added "Mr. Ahmadinejad and I will separately discuss this with the dear Leader.”
Prior to this, Mashaei’s head of campaign staff Hojjatoleslam Bahman Sharifzadeh had said in reference to the chances of his disqualification "The Guardian Council is not the only decision-making entity in the country.”
The Guardian Council announced 8 names as presidential candidates on Tuesday.
Accordingly, Qolamali Haddad Adel, Aliakbar Velayati, Mohammadbaqer Qalibaf, Mohammadreza Aref, Mohammad Qarazi, Hassan Rohani, Said Jalili, and Mohsen Rezaei were recognized as qualified for presidency.
Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Esfandyar Rahim Mashaei are among those whose qualifications were not approved.
Hashemi’s office has not made a reaction so far.
