TEHRAN, July 23, YJC - A new earth observing satellite is to give scientists vital information about our atmosphere and the impact of climate change and pollution.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The ‘Sentinel-5P’ is operated by the European Space Agency. The satellite is equipped with a highly sensitive instrument, which is able to determine the composition of our atmosphere by comparing light reflected from the atmosphere to direct sunlight. Data is produced almost in real time and results are delivered down to two ground stations within three hours. The satellite is claimed to be the first, dedicated to monitoring atmospheric chemistry. Sentinel-5P will orbit over 800 kilometers above Earth. It's expected to produce one million gigabytes of data that's about the same as 213,000 DVD movies.
