TEHRAN, June 20, YJC - Ali Akbar Velayati, a member of Supreme Board of Supervising the JCPOA deal says the Europeans acknowledged that the US has violated the JCPOA deal.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Pointing out to the recent resolution of US senate against Iran, Velayati said “the US and other members of 5+1 Group were obliged to avoid any act that directly or indirectly violates the JCPOA, while our country has fulfilled all of its commitments [to the deal]. The Senate resolution certainly is at odd with the soul and text of the JCPOA and is either directly or indirectly inconsistent with its 26, 27, and 28 clauses”.
“what is important is that the Americans again showed that they could not be trusted. These who understand international politics and have tested the Americans in global arena, believed from the beginning that they could not be trusted, yet some optimistically suggested that if we, like others, talk to the Americans and peacefully treat them, then they treat us peacefully and will remain loyal to their promise” Velayati remarked.
The US recent act, he added, made those who have an optimistic attitude toward the Americans as well as all of the world come to the point that the Americans could not be trusted, and that all of them, whether Democrate or Republican, and either Obama or Trump are alike.
“To prove that there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans, it should be known that the two parties came to term with each other; while the Democrats were committed and, Obama, Kerry, and others stressed and pretended that they are loyal to their sayings and commitments in the past, in the resolution named as ‘confronting Iran’ and in fact ‘confronting the world’ the Democrats and Republicans united and somewhat compromised and reconciled” Velayati noted.
He stressed that Iran has plenty of elbow room to confront this resolution of the US and with no hesitation takes the appropriate measures in political and international scene.
