TEHRAN, June 15, YJC - Iran has exported 500 tons foodstuff, including vegetable and fruits to Qatar so far, said Head of Iranian Foodstuff Producers Cooperatives Presidium Mehdi Karimi.
Qatar imports nearly all of its foodstuff, he said, adding, Iran has exported $18 million foodstutff to the country last year.
He also said that Iran is ready to meet Qatar’s needs considering its large deal of foodstuff productions and Qatar’s limitation in providing foodstuff.
Karimi added Iran produces 130.000 tons foodstuff annually and can provide 95 percent of local needs.
Iran is also exporting surplus of certain foodstuff to regional and European countries.
