Iran exports 240 mln light oil barrels from Kharg terminal

TEHRAN, June 13, YJC - Iran has exported 240 million light oil barrels from Kharg Oil Terminal, Northwest of Strait of Hormuz, southern Iran, over the last Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2016 – March 20, 2017).

Improved marketing conditions and crude sale following the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are reasons behind rise in the crude exports, Managing Director of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company Pirouz Mousavi said.

He also continued Iran has had good success in Kharg oil terminals as well as oil terminals in northern Iran in terms of stockpiling oil.

Iran has exported 780 million crude from Kharg oil terminal, 240 million barrels of which included light oil.

Over 800 ships have berthed at Kharg oil terminal during the above-mentioned period, rising by 260 ships comparing to similar period in the year before.
