Wednesday, 27 April 2022 (YJC)_ Deputy Chief of the Iranian Judiciary criticized certain European states for inaction toward attacks on Iran's diplomatic missions.

Gharibabadi: Certain EU States Failed to Protect Iranian MissionsAddressing a conference on "investigating attacks on Iran's diplomatic missions from the perspective of international law" on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1980 attack on the Iranian embassy in London, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Judiciary and head of the country's Human Rights Headquarters Kazzem Gharibabadi criticized certain European states for inaction toward attacks on Iran's diplomatic missions.

“An absolute right of any country is to have the immunity of diplomatic missions and the host country cannot waive this immunity. Representatives of the host country cannot enter an embassy without permission according to international law,” he noted.

Gharibabadi finally noted that “Most of the attacks on Iran's diplomatic missions have occurred in European countries.”

From 30 April to 5 May 1980, after a group of six armed men stormed the Iranian embassy on Prince's Gate in South Kensington, London the Iranian Embassy siege happened.
