Gharibabadi Blasted UN Human Rights for Preparing Reports about IranIn a meeting with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet on the sidelines of the 49th UN Human Rights Conference on Human Rights in Geneva, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Judiciary and head of the country's Human Rights Headquarters Kazzem Gharibabadi blasted the UN human rights rapporteur for preparing politically-motivated reports about Iran.

« The appointed UN rapporteur on Iran turned into a political instrument that acts beyond the entire defined rules of the UN human rights rapporteurs,” Gharibabadi said while noting the new Iranian government and Judiciary Force have both made practical moves regarding the improvement of the human rights.

He went on to say that “The best way to improve the level of observation of the human rights is the Universal Periodic Review,” and noted that in the past 18 months Iran prepared a report on its observation of the UN 2020 proposals which will be presented to the ongoing UN Human Rights Council.

Gharibabadi also said that the Special UN Rapporteur has been turned into a channel forthe false news of the terrorist groups.

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique process which involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States.
