Tehran, YJC. IRGC deputy commander says Iran’s air forces followed the Israeli spy drone since arrival into airspace.

Second in command of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps Brigadier General Hossein Salami said on Tuesday that the Israeli spy drone Hermes could not have taken off from Israel.

Irael’s Hermes spy drone was downed by IRGC Air Force while flying over Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility on Sunday.

Salami said that the downed UAV cannot have flown straight from Israel due to its mileage per fuel tank, adding, "We are aware of its approximate take-off spot but will not make any judgment for now.”

He added that the drone had been followed right from the time it entered Iran’s airspace and was allowed to go on in order to understand its mission.

The IRGC second in command also said that Iran has no need to use the drone as a reverse engineering model.

He then asserted that Iran’s response to Israel’s action in sending the drone over its territorial airspace will not be diplomatic.

"We will respond in the field,” he stated.
