Afghan officials say five NATO deaths were 'friendly fire' KABUL

Afghan officials said Tuesday that five NATO soldiers who were killed in the south of the country died in a "friendly fire" error during an air strike.
 Though NATO declined to give details about the deaths. 

"I can confirm that five foreign troops were killed as a result of their own bombardment in Arghandab district," Ghulam Sakhi Roghlewani, police chief of Zabul province, told AFP after Monday's deaths.

Mohsin Khan, spokesman for the Afghan army's 205 division, also said it was a friendly fire incident, adding that one Afghan soldier was also killed. str-emh/bgs/ia/jah AFP 100734 GMT JUN 14
