Tehran, YJC. Sayyari says the Caspian Sea belongs to littoral countries and any illegitimate entry must be prevented.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari speaking on the occasion of the Army Week in Bandar Anzali, northern Iran, stated that Iran’s 4rth naval region is highly important and said "The region is, as the Supreme Leader said, highly important for preserving Iran’s resources and interests in the Caspian Sea, maintaining security for the growth of economic activity at seas, and showing our power. We must be appreciative of the region and the Northern Fleet.”

The naval commander further said "Interests over water borders as well as security and the preservation of the Caspian Sea are our obligations. We must not allow others to make illegitimate presence at the Caspian Sea, because the Caspian belongs to the neighbors and it is the naval force which has to maintain its security.”

Stating that a new region is to be made to the east of the Caspian Sea in the near future, Sayyari said "We are in a situation when we have to be a regional power, because fighting power is highly important as a company to the country’s power. Introducing approaches to the preservation of resources and maintaining order over the region is very important.”
