Tehran, YJC. Larijani says the European Parliament’s resolution against Iran is no more than a political statement.
Pointing
to a recent resolution by the European Parliament against Iran, the Majlis speaker
Ali Larijani said "The diplomatic arena is no place for political
bad-manneredness, nor one for roguery or botch. Diplomatics are used for better
relations. There is nothing to retaliation. There is no pride in talking lowly
things or talking arrogantly, it rather shows wretchedness.”
"The
European Parliament resolution is in fact no more than a political statement. A
propaganda outlook prevails over the resolution both in terms of how it has
been composed and regarding the symbolic stature of the EP with no executive
exertion. They tried through a bombastic tone to impose on themselves the
negative austerity of idiocy. There is some hallucinatory tone in this
composition-like text,” Larijani further stated.
He also
pointed to controversial visits paid by European politicians to activists inside
Iran and said "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would simply have to guide the
good-mannered European officials interested in meetings so that they would
observe political conduct and act within the regulations of the Islamic
Republic. May their deep-thinkers whose voice is heard now and there ponder
mutual interests and know that the fear of absurdity can be healed with
effective relations not with boldness. Along the attention they paid to the EU’s
independent stance they may at least show signs that would eradicate distrust.”
