Tehran, YJC. Gilda Barimani has launched a show of her paintings in Tehran.

Gilda Barimani is an art graduate, painter, and painting restoration expert. She was born in Sari, Mazandaran. She earned her bachelor degree from Florence University of the Arts and her masters in Tehran.

She opened the exhibition in Shokouh gallery in Farmaniyeh, Tehran.

She says in the work on show, she has depicted the challenges addressing women.

There is also a painting of an Iranian cheetah which was added to the show just before the opening. She says as the Iranian cheetah is currently facing a lot of issues for survival and there have been a lot of news around it recently, it is somehow in the same position as that of the female gender.

"This piece was not meant to be included in the exhibition. But since it is an endangered species we decided to put it on show in order to tell about the challenges that it faces for its survival,” Barimani said.
