Tehran, YJC. Researchers have found a way to treat gastrointestinal cancers by turning off some factors involved in the condition.
Dr. Mohammadreza Abbaszadegan in interview with Mehr News
Agency said "In this study two factors that turn the normal body cells
(especially the epithelial cells of the esophagus) into the cancer stem cells
were investigated.”
"Our research showed that a high percentage of the patients
possessed the mastermind and twist 1 factors,” he further said.
"Using recent cellular mechanisms, we turned these two
factors off,” Abbaszadegan stated.
