Tehran, YJC. Shamkhani says that a new wave of terrorism threatens international security.
Meeting with the President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Iran’s Head of Supreme National Security Council said "Today Iraq is exposed to an organized type of violence which results from the predominance of security, political, and sectarian approaches over humanistic, religious, and moral values.
Ali Shamkhani maintained that in an atmosphere where genuinely human beliefs fade away, an imminent third wave of terrorism threatens international peace and security.
Shamkhani maintained that the only way to cope with double standards is to incessantly fight terrorism and stressed the need for influential international bodies to cooperate.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council added "The Islamic Republic of Iran will always stand by the government and people of Iraq and is ready to boost cooperation in economic and cultural sectors in order to help stability, security, and development.”
President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim in turn congratulated Shamkhani on his appointment as the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and expressed optimism toward a bright future in constructive cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
Pointing out that the arrogance intends through ethnic clash to pursue their exploitative schemes in Iraq, Hakim called for integrity and understanding among various groups.
He also expressed favorable regards for Iran’s new policy on its nuclear case and stressed the need for peaceful, trust-building relations with Arab countries as a way to help regional stability.
