Tehran, YJC. Official has said that China uses Iranian experts to produce 10 tons farmed caviar.
Arsalan Qasemi, CEO of the Union Cooperative of Fish and
Shrimp Farming, in interview with Tasnim said that China employs Iranian experts
to farm 10 tons of caviar.
He then added "Of the 31 provinces of our country, 16 are
suitable for reproducing sturgeons. He have 900 km of coastline, but they are
not properly used.”
He pointed out "Last year we only produce 60 kg farmed
caviar, while China uses Iranian experts to produce 10 tons of farmed caviar.”
Pointing to domestic and international sanctions as the
biggest problems facing Iran’s fishery, he said "In the past 12 years we used
to have a 300-ton production, but it reached 2 tons last year, which goes
despite the fact that Iran is the origin [of caviar].”
