Tehran, YJC. Araqchi says that if they are willing to mend relations with Iran, UK officials would have to start from home.

Fars news agency reports Abbas Araqchi in his weekly news conference providing comments on recent statements by Jack Straw regarding his willingness to mend UK-Iran relations "If he is willing to start relations he must start from London.”

He also answered a question regarding the US green light for negotiations with Iran, stressing Iran’s willingness to hold talks with all countries, exceptions excluded saying "As for the US, things are past a mere green light. Nice words won’t suffice. The criteria for us are changes in US policy at the practical phase.”

Araqchi also pointed to recent developments in Egypt and related talks by Iran and said that Salehi has had talks with the Egyptian Foreign Minister.

He added that Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has also had helpful talks with the Acting Vice President of Egypt Mohamed ElBaradei, as well as a visit to Turkey and phone calls to UAE officials.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesman also said that President Ahmadinejad is to visit Iraq this week as invited by Talabani.
